Still waiting to hear from all nominators on preference re: books or All Media Types. If you do not get back to me by the time sign ups open on Feb 23, I will default to the tags for the books.

Final Fantasy VII Nominators

Currently I have both the "Compilation" and the single tag for the video game nominated. I will combine these both into the tag for the video game, unless I hear otherwise from one of the nominators.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Anime & Manga)

This is currently in the tagset under "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Live Action TV)." I presume one is based on the other, but were they intended as separate fandoms and/or are they distinct enough to be separate?

Ranma 1/2

Is the 2011 TV movie distinct enough from the original manga to count as a separate canon? Wikipedia claims that it takes its plot from an early story in the manga, but I'd like to confirm with someone familiar with the canon re: its place in the continuity. Was it a continuation of the canon, or a live action adaptation?

This appears to be a crossover pairing. Does a Dan Rydell appear in Northern Exposure?

FYI to the nominator: this was rejected because the tag "Ronon Dex & Teyla Emmagan & Rodney McKay & John Sheppard (SGA)" already exists in the tagset. If by "Stargate Atlantis Team," you meant the larger set of characters on the Atlantis "team" (Elizabeth Weir, et al), let me know and I will add it back in.

Under crossover fandoms, the tag "John Chricton (Farscape)/Aeryn Sun (Farscape)/Vala Mal Doran (SG-1)" should be spelled John Crichton.

Not the nominator, but as far as I know there wasn't a Dan Rydell in Northern Exposure, so I guess this was meant to be a crossover pairing.

Not my nomination, but when I nominate "Character & Team", as opposed to "Character & Character & Character & Character", I do so with the thought that the story would be written from singled out Character's POV, or he would be otherwise central compared to the rest of the team as single characters.

The '90s Sailor Moon anime and the live action series are very different series (as is the manga from either for that matter, though it and the first anime tend to get bunched) they start from the same most basic details (girls with secret identities based off the planets fight evil, here's the name of the first season villains and there's also a dude in a mask and a talking cat) but veer off in totally different directions plot and characterizationwise.

I actually had no idea the live action Ranma 1/2 movie existed, sorry! Looking at synopses it sounds like it's doing its own thing, since it sounds like the main plot is Ranma trying to cure his curse because otherwise he and Akane won't be able to inherit her fathers dojo? Which is really not the issue in the manga and anime, and it looks like none of his other fiancees (or the majority of the main cast) exists in it, but I'll defer to someone who's actually seen it.

I'll take your word for it on the live action film - sounds like there are enough cast/plot differences for it to be considered a divergence from the main canon.

For me, I'd want the LotR tags to be under books, where I also nominated them. The movies have some significant differences (and the old cartoon is pretty wacky, and same goes for it), and I don't think including the Tolkien LotR "apocrypha" The History of Middle-earth in the tag is that necessary (also, those are books, too). I don't think most people know the radio plays by this point (including me), and afaik the video games are mostly too "young" to be considered for this exchange, anyway, or don't feature the same characters, or should have been nominated by themselves because they're so different (stuff like LotR: War of the Ring).

The original nominator has specified that they would like the tag to include the movies. I have no problem with both books and movies being in the tagset as separate fandoms if you and the other nominators are okay with it as well.

If you were planning on using on some of the existing relationships currently listed under the All Media Types tag, I can add them into the book fandom tag as well, just let me know. I know it might have affected your nominating choices since the AMT tag was already accepted and visible in the tagset.

I know the radio plays and am just listening for the first time, because they're on Audible and have some amazing actors - so there are definitely people who know them who are taking part in the exchange!

There are two fandom tags now - one for the novels, and one for "Movies/Other." Hopefully that's a good compromise for everyone.

I know sign ups are open now, but I just spotted some weirdness in the tagset regarding Brat Pack films.

Cameron Frye/Brian Johnson is listed under both Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) and The Breakfast Club (1985) because one character is from each film - shouldn't this be under Crossovers instead?

Similarly, Duckie Dale/Cameron Frye is listed under Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) but Duckie is actually from Pretty in Pink.
