Hey there - that's actually in the FAQ believe it or not! I'm counting plays/musicals by the date it was first performed, since like you said - it's (presumably) the same material regardless of how many performances there have been. Exceptions would be if a certain run or performance changed the story/plot/characters significantly, but asfaik that's fairly rare.
